Integrated Circuit(s) Card Interface Device (CCID) Firmware and Device Driver

Integrated Circuit(s) Cards (ICC) and Smart cards comprise a selection of similar devices conforming to ISO/IEC 7816 specification. The CCID specification defines a protocol by which a host computer may interact through an interface with one or more ICCs.

So far, many  ICC and smart card reader vendors have been using their own proprietary communication protocol, which makes it hard to use these devices across different platforms. USB CCID specification therefore eliminates the need for creating device specific drivers for each operating system.

We at Centrillium have developed fully CCID compliant firmware for our client including extended features like keypad/LCD display support, multiple slot support, remote wake-up selective suspend support. We have also developed a CCID device driver for the host side.
